5. Three Terraces

The lower terrace is made up of a sparse little crepe myrtle grove. The fairy taIe atmosphere of this place focuses on the uniqueness of this slow-growing Mediterranean tree which is characterised by its filigree branches, luxuriant blossoms and rock-hard wood. The middle terrace is also called the "Green Salon". The entrance to the maze
created by the sculptor Franz Stehler is located here. This terrace is characterised by a second work of art: a 30 meter-long table created by Heinrich Hofinann and Harald Thaler. In the imaginations of its creators this table is "the garden's life-giving aorta". The table provides ample room for banquets and other festive occasions.
The upper terrace is crowned by a mighty red acer. A swing attached to one of the branches makes it possible to float suspended over the slope.
