OUR
STORY
Tracing its roots back to the 14th century, the Kränzelhof Estate has been nurtured with passion by the von Pfeil family since 1968. In 1981, young winemaker Franz von Pfeil began crafting his own wines, pioneering the use of barrique barrels that would come to define his signature style. The old sulfur mill was brought back to life in 1986 as a family farmhouse inn — the foundation of today’s miil. The Kränzelhof Gardens blossomed in 2006 — a “living masterpiece” and a personal vision of Franz von Pfeil. In 2011, chef Othmar Raich opened the miil restaurant, soon complemented by the EssBar — both spaces celebrating creative cuisine inspired by local, seasonal, and organic ingredients. Together, they tell the story of a farmstead blossoming in tradition, innovation, and hospitality.
